| From Humble Beginnings |
|
| Doug Remien is often asked, "What's the driving force behind your photographic vision"? He answers simply, "a childlike fascination with nature". At an early age he was fortunate to live and travel to many parts of the United States. Mountains, prairies, seashores and deserts were all places Doug, at one time or another, called home. His first backpacking experience came during high school when he hiked into Arizona's Superstition Wilderness. This was his first adventure recorded on film and he has never looked back. |
| While attending college at the University of Washington's School of Business, his spare time was often spent in the art school's color darkroom. The lessons he learned here would prove instrumental in developing his photographic ambition. Upon graduating in 1992, Doug decided to merge his business skills with his lifelong passion of photographing nature. |
| Doug began his career capturing wildlife with a 35mm camera. He soon upgraded his equipment to medium format systems better suited for creating large images for fine art decor. His commitment to excellence would soon earn him a reputation as a photographer dedicated to printing scenic landscapes with brilliant light and clarity. This talent has sent him coast to coast, participating in some of the top juried fine art festivals in the country. As an award winning and published photographer, Doug has recently broadened his market reach into corporate collections, galleries, and licensing. |
