| I was only six years old when I saw Colorado's Rocky Mountains, though I remember it as if it were yesterday. Both awe inspiring & enlightening, this early experience stayed with me always. Through the years, my life has been guided by a passionate search for those feelings and that search has always taken me to nature. As a boy, nature provided me with a sense of truth and serenity, and like an old friend I've turned to it time and time again. |
| Along the way, I've come to the conclusion that what I see today, and certainly what I saw when I was six, is not what I will see tomorrow. Though change is inevitable-in the natural world it can often mean devastating consequences. Around us civilization expands while wilderness collapses into isolated pockets. |
| As both an artist and environmentalist, it has always been an ambition of mine to somehow affect this process, to slow it down; to preserve these feelings of truth as a moment in time. For me, photography does just that. These images I share with you are my interpretation and preservation of truth. Of the thousands of moments I have photographed, only a select few convey my feelings so eloquently to earn inclusion into my portfolio. |
